Plagiarism:
Plagiarism or cheating will result in an automatic “F” for the class and possible dismissal from the program. The Journalism Department is committed to the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity. Plagiarism and other forms of cheating will not be tolerated. All work must be your own. Anyone caught cheating will receive a failing grade in the class and be reported to the University for possible further disciplinary action. For further explanation of the behavior defined as cheating, and a more detailed discussion of disciplinary procedures, see the CSUN catalog. Please also remember that much of the information posted on the Internet is protected by U.S. copyright laws. Passing this information off as your own is a violation of CSUN’s plagiarism policy, and carries the penalties outlined above
Literature reviews will undergo an end-of-semester review process. This will require setting up a meeting with Professor Wall. During this meeting, you will:
1. Produce all the original sources for all citations, flagged via page markers to the exact cite. This means if you have a book that needs to be returned, you photocopy those pages.
2. Verbally answer questions about your lit review.
Once you have successfully passed this review, then your paper will be evaluated.
